I've done welding in the past and this is a great unit with a lot of flexibility (wire size, gas shield or flux core, stainless, aluminum, 110v or 220v, etc.). I am running gas shielded wire on 110v 20A circuit and it runs great.

The MAG gas metal arc process (135) is a welding process that uses a consumable filler wire fed continuously from a spool through a handheld torch. Welding takes place when the wire comes into contact with the base metal, creating an electrical circuit that melts the wire, the base metal, or both.

A 0.024-inch wire would operate at 13 to 15 volts (electrode positive) with a wire feed speed of 130 to 160 ipm, whereas the 0.30-inch solid wire would require 15 to 17 volts and 75 to 100 ipm wire feed speed. These parameters would work well for single-pass flat and horizontal fillet welds.

If a machine is rated at 300 amps/60% duty cycle, it can weld at 300 amps for 6 minutes. For the remaining four minutes, the power source needs to idle and cool. Keep in mind, however, that the actual total time while a machine can be used continuously is not determined by a timer.
